Sidney Halston returns to steamy Tarpon Springs, Florida, where a hell-raising bad boy prepares to get down and dirty for the woman he loves.

How could she have been so stupid? When Jessica Cross decides to give her violently jealous boyfriend—the otherwise influential and charming Dennis Stavros—a second chance, she very nearly becomes a statistic. After weeks of healing from a broken rib and collapsed lung, and with Dennis behind bars, Jessica finally feels ready to come out of hiding. But will she ever be able to take a chance on love again with someone new?

Mixed martial arts fighter Slade Martin knows he has a bad reputation. Hell, he's probably earned it. So it won’t be easy to convince beautiful, vulnerable Jessica that she can trust him—that from the moment she walked into his life, she’s been the only one he’s wanted. Powerful and confident, Slade knows he can honor his vow to protect Jessica body and soul. Winning her heart will be another matter . . . but a woman like Jessica is worth the fight.

Other books in this series

I spent most of my time laughing or grinning while I read this story. Slade and Jessica take the cake when it comes to witty conversations between characters.

While the ease of their dialogue tickled my funny bone, the explosiveness of their relationship fascinated me. Slade's interest in Jessica wasn't new or sudden. It had grown over time. His claim on her heart just couldn't happen then because she was with someone, but it could happen now because she was a free woman. He just had to wait for her to heal from the beating her ex-boyfriend gave her before he could start showing her that he was the perfect man for her.

I was surprised at how quickly their relationship began after her last one ended. I thought she would have wanted to wait a while, get used to the idea of dating again, you know? But I was reminded at the beginning of the story that Slade was the one who'd taken care of her after her ex went to prison. She'd stayed at his house, got better because of his tender care. If anyone deserved to date her, it was Slade. He made her laugh and smile. Most of all, he made her feel safe, protected, cared for, and incredibly loved.

Everyone deserves a happy ending. The road to an HEA may be filled with bumps and twists and turns, but the ending makes all of that worth going through. Slade and Jessica deserved to be happy. They needed to see that life was more than what it had been, that they could have happiness if they were willing to take a chance on each other.

This is the second book in Ms. Halston's Worth the Fight series, and it can be read as a standalone. However, I recommend reading Against the Cage first. It introduces Tarpon Springs as well as the characters this series is about. Just like book one, Full Contact is fast-paced, witty, and sexy, and is sure to keep a reader entertained from beginning to end.

Sidney Halston lives her life by one simple rule: “Just do it.” And that’s exactly what she did. At the age of thirty, having never written anything other than a legal brief, she picked up a pen for the first time to pursue her dream of becoming an author. That first stroke sealed the deal, and she fell in love with writing. Halston lives in South Florida with her husband and children.
