This second chance story was a bit different. The second chance was for both Isandro and Arianna though in different ways.

Daughter of a socialite and successful in her own right, Arianna was a gorgeous but blurred soul. Let me explain. From the outside, she appeared to have it all. Perfect family, perfect boyfriend, perfect life. But under all that prettiness and perfection was a woman who didn't know her own worth because no one in her life took the time to make sure she knew it.

She was hopelessly flawed, according to those who were supposed to love her for her.

Enter the man she once upon a time rejected but now wants a chance with.

Isandro is the opposite of Arianna's ex. He's compassionate and kind, loving and giving. His crush on Arianna hasn't dimmed. Her interest surprises him but he refuses to let this chance slip by just because she rejected him before. The euphoria from a night of mind-blowing intimacy, for them both, shatters when he believes he's just a rebound one-night stand, a temporary fill-in for the man that continuously wronged her and didn't think twice about doing it.

He wasn't and discovered that Arianna was nothing like he imagined. She was a hundred times better.

Happily ever after didn't come easy. Despite the smooth sailing they experienced for a bit, there was always her pesky ex and disapproving mother in the background. Isandro got his second chance; would he lose it because of others?

This is where Arianna had her second chance. While, yes, it was a second chance at love with a man who really, truly cared and loved her for her, it was a second chance at life in a way. When you live with whispers of never being good enough, that something is always wrong with you, wouldn't you want someone who said the opposite? Someone who reminded you how precious you are? Someone who praised rather than demeaned, complimented rather than scorned?

Isandro was that voice. He made her see her worth, made her understand her value, made her feel how much he treasured her.

I didn't read the first books in this series but this read great as a standalone. The lessons learned in this story aren't new. They've been incorporated into stories before. But they're worth reading again. A terrific story with well-developed characters who truly deserve the love and happiness they found in one another.
