Emma Fawn has fallen on hard times. Her mom, unable to support them both, had kicked her out when she turned eighteen and she’s been bouncing from town to town and job to job for a few years until she finally lands in Thorp, Washington.

She’s trying to stay positive but she’s run out of money, has nowhere to live, and no real options. She’s so desperate that she applies to any job that she can find that’s hiring and finally gets an interview at Stratton Lumber.

She’s pretty sure she won’t get hired as a lumberjack but she still shows up for the interview. She’s just not prepared for what will happen once she arrives.

*Warning: This book lumberjack alpha is growly and head over heels in love with his feisty girl. Are you looking for a short, sweet, instalove story? Then hit that button cause this book is for you!

Emma's been town-hopping for a while, looking for work, doing her best to keep her head above water and live, not just survive. It's what brought her to Thorp, WA. It's what led her to Stratton Lumber. It's how she met the owner, Heath.

He's a mountain of a man, in height and breadth, and the most handsome man she's ever seen. He's a little bit growly, a little bit intense, but he makes her feel safe. Wanted.

Since she's so much smaller and weighs just a little more than an ax, Heath knows she's not cut out to be a lumberjack. When someone else makes a move on her, he decides the best place for her to be is in his home as his new housekeeper/cook.

Except, as he finds out quickly enough, Emma can't cook to save her life.

Between barely edible meals and playing house together, they share their pasts as their attraction grows. But Heath doesn't believe their attraction is mutual. He's so freakishly huge and awkward. She's so...perfect. Except for her cooking, a minor detail he's willing to overlook if he can keep her.

You know, I really enjoyed this story. Emma and Heath are physical opposites but she's so quick to defend him, to see past his preconceived imperfections to the man he is. She peeled back his armor and captured the heart he guarded so carefully, giving him hers in exchange. They loved perfectly and unconditionally.
