Kelly Taylor’s homemade pet treat business is taking off. Even better, utterly yummy Lord Cory Winthrop, the man she had a teenage crush on, asks her out for dinner.

Back on a lightning visit home, Cory Winthrop runs into his childhood friend, Kelly. Captivated by her happy nature, he becomes determined to win her heart.

However, finding true love is never easy. Kelly worries she may not fit into Cory’s spectacularly glamorous lifestyle. To complicate matters, Cory’s banking career is at a crossroads, and his evil ex is about to come rocketing back into his life.

Will Cory and Kelly be able to overcome their difficulties and live happily ever after?

A warm, light-hearted small town romance with a curvy girl and a very hunky billionaire banker. Featuring Hamish, the adorable rescue puppy.

Kelly and Cory are at a crossroad in their individual lives when they're reunited. Childhood friends separated by time and life, they come together again thanks to Kelly's German Shepherd puppy, Hamish. Kelly's childhood crush on Cory reignites into adult feelings and desires for the man he is now. Cory, for his part, isn't immune, and it doesn't take long for him to not only appreciate the woman she's become but for him to reciprocate Kelly's feelings.

Not without some difficulties. Kelly has insecurities--about her looks, the difference between her and Cory's social status--while Cory has a decision to make about work and a terrible ex to deal with.

Cory and Kelly's story is sweet, filled with laughter, and balanced with...life. They stand on the edge of an incredible future together but their lives right now are a bit chaotic. It's a delicate game of give and take, of compromise, of making the right choice while not giving up what their hearts so desperately want: each other.

I binge-watched Hallmark movies a couple weeks ago and this story could have been one of those movies. The angst is at a minimum, real life is at a maximum, love ever after is a guarantee. Getting there is the entertainment. Those looking for romance on the sweeter side may find this endearing, while it may not fulfill that thrill other readers who prefer something edgier, a little more explicit. This was a fun read for me, a well-needed break in the lineup of books I'm currently reading, and one I hope other readers will enjoy.
