Paisley Colburn has always loved animals more than people. When she finds out that the animal shelter that she works at lost out on expanding because they were outbid on the land, she reacts impulsively. She decides to write a post under one of the articles announcing the news, just to vent some of her frustrations. She has no idea that one comment is about to change her whole life.
Levi Radcliffe runs a very successful Logistics company. When he sees a negative comment under an article about his company’s new warehouses opening across the country, he’s intrigued. How could anyone be upset about that news? Messaging back to find out what their problem is proves to be the best decision of his life.
One message.
That’s all it takes to have Levi hooked. When their relationship moves off the screen to real life, will Levi be able to convince Paisley that he’s still the man she fell for online?
*Warning: This love by letter book is a quick sweet read. Looking for a Hero who would do anything to keep his girl? Then this short read is for you!
It started with an online conversation, a need for clarification that opened the door to more.
I like how Levi listened when Paisley railed against his company. He took her suggestion-not-really-a-suggestion to heart and made moves to appease and appeal to her. While he was smitten from almost the get-go, convincing Paisley to open up to him was a fantastic game to read. But he was persistent. And insistent. And it paid off.
However, keeping who he really was could throw up a road block large enough to block a semi-truck if he didn't act fast when she discovered the truth. But then, nothing worth having is ever easy to get.
At the heart of their story is a relationship built entirely off of online exchanges. It starts with one-sided dislike that grows into mutual like. They warm from friends to lovers at a pace that is more organic than I'm used to seeing in an insta-love romance. Ms. Hart wrote this so well my heart sighed with happiness.
This is a trope that needs to be done more often. In an age where more and more connections are made through data/internet plans--whether by email, social media, chat rooms--Levi and Paisley's story is so real and it'll probably ring true for a couple or two out there. Happily ever after doesn't always begin with a face-to-face meeting. Sometimes it starts with a simple ping.
