Welcome to Eye Candy Ink...

Meet Atlas Warner.
He’s the newest and youngest member at the shop and a talented tattoo artist. Neglected by his parents his whole life, he’s finally found the family that he’s always wanted at Eye Candy Ink.

He’s happy with his life. He’s got a great job and even better friends. He thinks he’s got everything that he needs...until Darcy walks into the shop.

One look at the shy girl with the kind eyes and the curvy body of a goddess and Atlas is hooked.

Darcy Rose has been through a lot in her life, most of it bad. Her mother abandoned her, she lost both her grandparents in the span of a week, she was bullied all through school, and she had to build her company from the ground up.

Darcy doesn’t trust a good thing. How can she when the voices of her bullies are still ringing in her head asking questions like why would the tattooed hottie who could have any girl he wanted be interested in her?

Now, Atlas just needs to show Darcy that he’s here to stay.

How do you accept the present and potential future when the voices of the past are jockeying to still be heard? How do you get over yourself to see what's right in front of you isn't just empty words or superficial gestures?

By having someone constantly and consistently reinforce all of your amazing qualities with words and deeds.

Atlas had his work cut out for him when it came to Darcy, but he wasn't the kind of man to stop just because the going got tough. While he was comfortable in his own skin, it was an uphill battle getting Darcy to become comfortable in hers. The negativity she'd experienced in her childhood resonated loud and clear into adulthood. It was easy to see why she was wary of Atlas's attention.

She was worthy of it and so much more.

Atlas and Darcy make an unlikely couple by way of their physical appearance, but they weren't that different where it mattered. Was it hard to muscle through the doubts and insecurities? You bet. There were a couple moments when it felt like calling it quits would be easier than working through the issues except anything worth having is worth fighting for. And I'm glad neither gave up.

This story might be short, but it has the right amount of sweet and heat for it to be an engaging page-turner and a good start to Ms. Hart's new series.
